Waimakariri Riding Club is proud to announce that the club will be taking over the running of the Dressage days in North Canterbury which will start up again from August 16th of this year at the Rangiora A&P grounds
An enthusiastic committee has been working hard to bring you an exciting new format designed to support both competitive ESNZ-registered riders seeking points towards National series, and to make this a welcome pathway for new and developing riders through the addition of unaffiliated and musical classes.
We will continue to offer Graded classes for those riders seeking to gain points towards the National dressage series with classes from Intro through to Elementary plus a TOC. If entries permit, the TOC may be split into separate classes at each level. In addition we are very excited to be adding in Graded musical freestyle classes for the August and November dates.
The dates will run as a Spring and Summer Series with the finals being the last date in each series to decide our Champion and Reserve Champion at each level.
A separate WRC schedule with unaffiliated classes in the afternoon will include Intro through to Elementary and a TOC plus WRC musical freestyles. This year we will be adding in a Pairs to music freestyle and a Junior freestyle class making it more inclusive and accessible.
We also want to highlight recent improvements to the A&P grounds as part of the committee’s task. The arenas have had a deep harrow and work is being done to install irrigation to eliminate dust issues and make the surface a cushioned and more consistent surface.
With all this work in mind, these events are only successful if riders come along to support them both with entries and to volunteer so please come along and have a go. There are classes for all levels and we hope to encourage entries from the broader Riding and Pony Club groups in the Waimakariri area.
A full list of dates are detailed below and there will be separate schedules for the ESNZ tests and the Riding Club series in the afternoon.
Dresssage Tests:
Note: Our unaffiliated tests are the USDF tests which are very similar to the ESNZ tests, there are minor differences so definitely check them.
