So how do Sophie Hargraeves physio and saddle sessions and First Aid fit together for the first rally of the new membership year? Well, they do and they don’t! They give you a chance to race Sophie’s wild stallions, to review your knowledge of a horse first aid kit and to know some of the knowledge and skills of our new members.

Sophie started off her sessions with races! The stallions were relatively well behaved and had all their feet on their ground but illustrated an important point about balance. I’m not sure who won the races but what happens at rally… stays at rally! Sophie then had some time on saddles as well as some fun stuff from the ground.

Gwen covered the contents of the club First Aid kits, drawing on the knowledge of the groups, with various scenarios for the use of these first aid kits. Fab job from Coral last year and valuable knowledge about the why and where you might use some of this equipment.

The shared lunch was as amazing as ever and some super connections developed. Thanks, Piers, for the cuppa. Gwen presented Phillipa with her winning meat raffle, Phillipa handed out some uniforms.

Hess reminded us the next flatwork rally on Saturday 9th August at Harrs Road. Coaches Debbie Nelson and Hess Vertogen. Register for the event using the FB member page or reply to the club email.
